We occasionally watch a bit of TV…. Alright… fine, we admit it. We watch A LOT of TV. So here is the weekly rundown of shows that we watched this week and the quick and dirty on what we thought of them. Is there something we should be watching that we are not? Let us know and we will check it out.
This week no Flashforward, Fringe, Vampire Diaries, or Supernatural.
V 1.4 “It’s Only the Beginning”
This episode is about the advanced medical technology of the V’s. They can see an illness you will have before it even exists. By performing full body scans, they can see where the illness will occur and when. They can also see what trauma’s your body has suffered in the past. Chad Decker the reporter underwent such an scan to learn that his is going to die in 6 months. Of course the V’s can fix his problem, and I am sure there will be something he can do for them in return.
The V’s also claim to be distributing a vitamin shot to the humans to keep them from getting sick. The resistance believes the V’s are spiking the vitamin shot with something called R6. They track down a V warehouse and find that the visitors are actually spiking the country’s supply of flu vaccine. And they destroy the warehouse. See, that is why I don’t get the flu vaccine!
Remember Ryan? The V who has joined the resistance and is living as a human? Well, he knocked up his girlfriend. So, is this baby going to be 1/2 human – 1/2 lizard? hmmm.
As the show ends we are given a view of a menacing fleet of V ships hovering just outside of our galaxy, waiting to pounce. Uh oh!
Matt says: Well, bye, bye until March 2010. Man, what a terrible programming decision. Hope this does not kill the show. The show started way too quick but it has now slowed down to a manageable pace and it is getting interesting. The V’s have a strong foothold in the world and will only get stronger. Give sick people hope and their loyalty will follow. Just remember that nothing is free in life and there will be a price to pay. Luckily we have Erica on our side. I hope this show comes back strong and makes it the entire season as I am really curious where they are going with the plot. I would also like the writers to explore more the V culture. So far it is pretty fascinating. Oh well, see you next year.
Dexter 4.10 “Lost Boys”
Dexter moved his air-conditioner to a shipping container rather than keeping it in the shed. Probably a good idea! While following Trinity, Dexter witnesses Arthur abduct a young boy. Arthur takes the boy to a bomb shelter and feeds him hamburgers, forcing him to play with trains and respond to the name Arthur. After searching a database of missing children, Dexter discovers that a 10 year old boy goes missing before each of the killing sprees. Arthur has a 4th victim, his childhood, his innocence. In a rare twist of events we get to see Dexter save someone, rather than killing someone. But Trinity is on his list now for sure. And Trinity knows that Dexter is on to him. Should make for some interesting episodes to come.
Deb is figuring out that her shooter is probably Christine (Arthur’s daughter). Turns out she is right. Lundy was getting close to finding out who Trinity was, and Christine put a stop to it for him. She has known that he was a killer since she was young and she was just trying to protect her daddy. awwww. After running a DNA test on Christine’s toothbrush and determining that she is related to Trinity, Deb gets her proof and hauls Christine down to the station.
Matt says: This season is off the rails, it is so good that I can hardily contain myself. I not sure how it will all end. Will Deb catch Trinity before Dexter does? Personally, I am betting that once Trinity figures out Dexter is like him that he will surrender to Dexter to be sacrificed as living in prison will not work for him. Just my guess. I also curious if the kid that got saved will be able to ID Trinity? Hope they address this in the next episode. Only 2 more weeks to go and the killing clothes go back in the closet.
Heroes 4.11 “The Fifth Stage”
Claire stole the compass from her daddy’s desk drawer and she and Gretchen are off to find out where it will lead them. When they arrive at the carnival, Samuel dosen’t seem surprised and he gives Claire the hard sell on Carnie life. Even going so far as to invite her to stay for a couple of days and sicking cute little children on her. Samuel sent his new second in command, the multiplying guy to liberate Noah of his Primatec files. And he does so with ease.
Peter is planning to hunt down Nylar and get his brother back. He even goes so far as to borrow the Hiatian’s power of blocking abilities and erasing minds. Only Sylar is 2 steps ahead of him and he gets the jump on Peter. Peter & Nylar suare off in an epic battle and Peter finally gets the upper hand when he find himself a nail gun. Peter wins the battle, but when Nathan claims he can’t fight for control of the body anymore, he jumps off of a building. Sylar heals himslef, gets up and walks away, winning the war.
Matt says: ZZzzzzzz. Not a very exciting episode at all. Wow, a hero actually died? Of course he was killed last season but now his death is official. Maybe. Likely he will reappear next season through popular demand. I just don’t care that Nathan died and it was boring. If Peter had any intelligence at all he would have killed Nathan, taking Sylar with him. This would have saved countless lives, maybe he could have been a hero. Alas no, he is just stupid. Well see you in a month Heroes and here is hoping the story line picks up.
